MyHealth@EU represents the digital infrastructure for online health assistance in Europe which ensures a secure and interoperable exchange of health data between Member Countries of EU, guaranteeing continuity of cure for European citizers traveling, offering the same therapy as their Country of residence. 

Since 2017, Lepida has partecipated to several initiatives coordinated by the Ministero della Salute (MdS) inside the eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure–eHDSI project. 

The initial project, also known as “Deployment of generic cross-border eHealth services – National Contact Point eHealth” (NCPEH) represented a first step to the interoperability of electronical prescriptions (eP) and to the Patient Summary (PS), initially involving 16 UE Member States and 31 nowadays.

Not only the MdSis is involved, but also the MEF, Sogei, AgID and the Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Veneto Region.

The first NCPEH paved the way for the NCPEH+ project, “Extension of National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH) in Italy”, which started at the end of 2022, also involving two additional Regions (Calabria and Friuli Venezia Giulia), with the aim of broaden the reach of the interoperability and also allowing the exchange of original clinical documents (OrCD). 

The next initiative soon to be started is the “NCPeH-Ter – Expansion of MyHealth@EU” project, which is going to allow the MdS to “carry on board” every institution that operates to miscellaneous title in the digital healthcare, such as AGENAS and DTD, to offer new services (diagnostic imaging tests, lab referee and hospital discharge letters) and to guarantee the eP/PS extension and maintainment both as a State of Affiliation (services for Italian citizens abroad) and of Treatment (services for foreign citizens in Italy).
