On March 12 and 13 the final seminar of the European project Data4Energy was held in Falun (Sweden).

It’s an Erasmus+ initiative that aims to strengthen the capacity of local governments in the collection, management and use of energy data to support more effective policies on environmental sustainability.

During the seminar, the results of interviews with medium-sized municipalities in Emilia-Romagna and Sweden were presented, together with the results of the online survey aimed at small municipalities.

Evidence has confirmed a large gap in the capacity to collect and use energy data: while the more structured municipalities show established practices, those of small size highlight difficulties related to the fragmentation of data, the lack of simple tools and the shortage of trained staff.

There is a clear and shared need for more accessible tools, training for staff and a greater integration between local and national data sources.

On the 28^th of April, an online meeting addressed to those who have already participated in Data4Energy activities and new stakeholders interested in the topic of energy and environmental sustainability was held, in which Lepida presented the main results of this project and launched a shared reflection on future prospects.
