Emilia-Romagna has achieved a prestigious European recognition with the award of the "Floods & Droughts" project.

The four-year initiative aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence into flood and drought prevention strategies, fulfilling the Regional Presidency's commitment to establishing a "Water Network".

The project establishes close cooperation between important European and Italian regions, focused on resilient water resources management and climate risk mitigation.

In this scenario, Generative AI emerges as a fundamental lever for increasing the public value generated by institutions. Lepida operates as an active partner in the consortium, providing the infrastructure needed to train sovereign foundational models.

The use of high computational capabilities and advanced algorithms will allow environmental data flows to be transformed into reliable predictive models, while ensuring full technological sovereignty and security in the processing of territorial information.

The success of this architecture depends on the capillarity of the data collected. The hope is that every local authority will actively contribute to the infrastructure of sensors in the area.

A widespread survey network is essential to power analysis systems and ensure increasingly timely and shared soil protection.
